CFT’s First School Smart Forest Project Announced

Canada’s Forest Trust (CFT) is pleased to reveal the first of many Smart Forest locations. Found in the endangered Acadian forest region of New Brunswick, Canada, 95 acres of previously devastated land will be brought back to health with the support of Smart Forest Stewards across Canada.

Student Opportunities and Leadership

Schools that have active Smart Forest Fundraisers gain exclusive access to additional education programming and student leadership opportunities to further support youth engagement in positive climate action and community service.

About the Leadership Program

Student Forest Ambassadors

Grow your skills as a leader and a changemaker in your school.

  • Leadership role for 2-3 students per school
  • Lead a team of student forest stewards.
  • Earn volunteer hours towards graduation requirements.
  • Eligible to apply for paid summer internships, jobs, and scholarships.
  • Access environmental education and engagement resources.
  • Act as the key point of contact for your campaigns.
  • Liaise with school administration and councils.
  • Boost your resume with leadership and entrepreneurship skills.
  • Join a national network of like-minded environmentalists.

About the Education Program

Workshops

In partnership with Project Learning Tree, Canada’s Forest Trust offers free education modules to support student learning outcomes relating to forests and climate.
